A really great find - a Regina BX 14-32 wide space freewheel that is NOS and affordable! It uses the spline style remover (not included) that many folks like. The BX freewheel is a nice freewheel from Regina that appears to have a nice reputation. So if you want an Italian made freewheel at a price that isn't crazy this is a great choice.
This is an ISO thread freewheel - it threads wonderfully on either BSC (aka English) or Italian threaded hubs. This is a real plus if you think you'll be moving the freewheel onto various times. As long as you're hub isn't French threaded, this is the freewheel that is a class A fit on everything!
The cogs are 14,16,19,23,28,32 which is quite nice! You get a nice clustering of cogs in the relatively go-fast zone. And then when you're really climbing, you have the choice of a 28 or a 32.
The freewheel is boxed but the box may be only in fair conditin. And as can be expected with any older NOS item, there may be marks or stains on the freewheel - your freewheel will be absolutely unused. We have a few of these - the one you get will be of similar quality to the one shown in the photo.
The fit of the body parts on this freewheel seems better than the old Regina system as there is less gap between the body parts.
Importantly - this freewheel has been in bulk storage for many years - YOU MUST DRIP IN SOME FRESH OIL before using it. This is true for most older vintage freewheels. Never use grease. On our own bikes, we typically drip Phil Wood tenacious oil into the backside and let it soak in until it comes out the front side.
Note that you can use a narrow chain (one intended for up to 8sp) on this freewheel with good results. But use of a wide space chain gives the real solid "ker-chunk" sound that vintage fans like.
