We were able to souce a few more of these - but be aware, the ones we have now have more shopwear on them. It's still great to find a nice stem in French diameter, but there will be more marks on the one you receive even though it may be in some of it's original wrapping - or maybe not....
Oh my - we get lots of requests for high quality French diameter (22.0 instead of typical 22.2) stems , but we rarely find any. That just changed - we found some 80mm TTT examples. These take 26.0 handlebars. Some TTT stems actually are more like 25.8. But these (at least what we measured) are really for 26.0. So you can use nifty true 26.0 bars such as those in that size from Nitto. The length is the very desirable 8cm. So here is a great alternative to "shaving" a 22.2 stem to make it fit - this is factory ready!
The stem you get will probably shopwear. Some are wrapped, some are not. But we photographed one that wasn't wrapped. They all seem to have some residue on them that will polish up (don't do much, you don't want to bit into the anodizing). Most stems that come onto the market in 22.0 French quill diameter are rather low quality. Many period French stems were cast or made with other design flaws that make them rather unreliable. TTT stems are much better quality. (that said, TTT stems are not as good as Cinelli 1/A, but they are way better than almost everthing else out there).
